The Unwritten Life

We all have a story within us,waiting to be written. Some of these stories are painted in salt and water as tears dilute the colors of your life while others may be red with blood left unwashed from your hands. Some may even be painted by absence, the negative space itself writing its own story of omission. Whatever your medium, whatever your story, remember that you are the author of your life.

If there is evil in your world it exists solely for you to overcome, to serve as a challenge for you to rise above or as a whetstone for you to sharpen yourself against. If there good in your life remember that there is still evil in the world and prepare for what you may need to do should it cross your path, for you may not have yet reached the inciting incident of your story. Always think toward the you you wish to be, and if means throwing away the you you were, that's okay. An author must be ready to rewrite their story from the beginning no matter how many pages have been penned.

Don't be afraid or the rewrites. Let others read your story and give their feedback honestly and in good faith. They want to help you write a masterpiece.  If you don't understand how your story should continue they will be there to give you inspiration.

The events of yesterday give us context, the hopes for tomorrow give us purpose, but our pen rests forever on the blank page that we have for today.

The rest is still unwritten.
